A very dear long-time friend has recently decided to make the biggest change in her life.
About 7 years ago she lost her husband to cancer. Her two children have now moved away, one to Canada and the other to Ireland, leaving her rattling around on her own in a big house.
The decision has now been taken to sell up and move on.
However, the moving on part is not straightforward. She has bought an apartment in Canada and a Trailer home on a holiday park here in the UK. The plan is to spend winter in Canada and summer here. A very brave decision at age 70.
In doing all this she has had to get rid of most of her life-time possessions which included some musical instruments.
All she is keeping is a travel guitar. The piano has gone and I sold a Telecaster for her. The other, that was left, was a very nice acoustic guitar which she has kindly handed over to my safe-keeping.
As a thank you I wrote her this song using only that guitar.
