Simon Wright lyrics
Darkness
(Verse 1)
I watched the darkness come down
Completely over my town
I couldn't see my fingers
I couldn't see my way
All I could do was watch my past on constant replay
(Verse 2)
I felt the darkness come down
So bleakly over the ground
I haven't felt such numbness
I couldn't thaw my heart
All I could do was laugh out loud as we fell apart
(Bridge)
I walked up to a window
But there was no light inside
Whatever love had lived there
Had surely long since died
(Verse 3)
I made the darkness come down
Too deeply over my town
I cannot see my soft tears
But I can taste their salt
All I can do is look back at all the wars we fought
