This is a bluegrass / traditional country piece I wrote when my mother was dying, last year.
When I was 4 years old I had to stay overnight in the hospital for a surgery. I kept telling my parents "Wait, I've got something to tell you" to delay them in leaving me for the night. I thought of this when my mother was dying. I did not want her to go.
Something to Tell You
ChorusI?ve got something to tell you You really ought to know
I?ve got something to tell youI don?t want you to go
Verse 1 You?ve been with me all my life
Guided me each day
Always there both day and night
Wish that you could stay
Verse2All the stars in heavenAnd the milky way
Shine down on me tonightI Wish that you could stay
Verse 3I could?ve spent a lifetimeRegretting a single day
But I sang songs by your side On your final day
Repeat last line
