as I watch the sea
through the window frame
see the clouds fly in
over the lighthouse in rain
blowing the boats as
they try to come
home
against the waves they
each go a
lone

and when
the mist
or the ocean
advances from the East
like a country
invading
the mainland

then
all your vision
is gone and
the grass rolls on and on and
the dusk becomes the dawning

lost in memory

praising the sea
