Lyrics

Mostly True

Music © 2021 Brent Godfrey

Lyrics adapted and derived from the prose and poems of Brian Andreas

Verse 1:

When I was 5 my family forgot and left me at the fair

I wandered around in the bright sounds without a single care

I loved the smells of hot saw dust and of sweet cotton candy

The hours went by and it was way too late by the time my parents found me

Chorus 1:

I haven?t been fit for society since Need to wander far and wide

Try Not to keep you in suspense There?s not a lot I haven?t tried

I Go where the spirit calls me Thing?s have been going pretty well

Take anxiety breaks to stay centered I?ve fallen under your spell

Verse 2

Whenever I used to do those puzzles in children?s magazines

The ones where you need to find the hidden pictures in imaginary scenes

I?d find the griffin and missing little finger of the mummy of  king Tut

They?d  give me strange looks and say all you?re looking for is a yellow duck

Chorus 2:

I?ve always seen hidden meanings in everything Have an inquiring mind

I love to dance and sing I seek and then I find

I go where my spirit calls me Thing?s have been going pretty well

Take anxiety breaks to stay centered I?ve fallen under your spell

Verse 3:

One time I was standing on a corner when a man drove up in a car

He asked me for directions to a place I knew.  I thought that?s not very hard

I said that?s way too easy mister can?t you ask me something a little bit harder.

He drove off yelling at me for playing games.   Wonder if he ever got there.

Half Instrumental Chorus

I go where my spirit calls me Thing?s have been going pretty well

Take anxiety breaks to stay centered I?ve fallen under your spell

Take anxiety breaks to stay centered I?ve fallen under your spell
