Artist's Notes

The Pied Piper, a cult of personality, the Siren Song. What makes people get so caught up in a single charismatic personality that they follow without question wherever that person leads them? Why will people believe any story, no matter how divorced from reality, for the sake of feeling like a part of a strong powerful group? What happens when their Siren Song leads them to the brink of destruction and madness?

Lyrics

Siren Song

By David R. Koehler

Verse 1

I follow the siren song

It?s what I want to hear

Leads to a place I will belong

The message is so dear

Lock step I?ll follow

Marching with my peers

The siren song is beautiful

Alluring, loud, and clear

Dissonance must be crushed

Along with all our fear

Anything conflicting

Burns in our righteous fire

The heat feeds all passions

For our exalted ?Sire?

No new information

Will disrupt our paradise

This vision of our world

Where fantasies suffice

Chorus:

Echo the song

Loud and proud

Don?t deny our glorious crowd

The siren song - sing along

The siren song cannot be wrong

Bridge:

A red haze settles

Over all our eyes

All those who meddle

We will despise

Our mind?s made up

No more consideration

The siren song rings out

Leads to our destination

Those on the side lines

Waving hands and crying wolf

We go where they fear to tread

They?re all corrupt

We forge ahead

Verse 2

Where?s the song come from?

Who sings this lovely dirge?

Someone who knows us well

That knows our every urge

The singer is persuasive

A dapper magic man

Strong and confident

We like his simple plan

We go forth to do his bidding

Take risks and send him money

We don?t believe he?s kidding

His voice is sweet like honey

Trouble comes,

We need support

We turn around,

He?s left the fort

His song rings in our ears

But when curtains fall

It disappears

That's when we realize

As the scales

Fall from our eyes

The siren song?s a terrible spell

That heat we felt

Is the fire of hell

Chorus:

Echo the song

Loud and proud

Don?t deny our glorious crowd

The siren song - sing along

The siren song cannot be wrong
